Jacobean Craft Chocolate

🍫 Newfoundland’s first bean-to-bar chocolate studio.

Jacobean Craft Chocolate started with curiosity — and a serious love of chocolate. After discovering the bean-to-bar movement and tasting handcrafted chocolate from around the world, the founders quickly fell in love with its pure, complex flavours. Industrial chocolate just couldn’t compare. So in 2018, they took the leap and opened their own small chocolate studio in Newfoundland and Labrador, becoming one of the first in the province to craft chocolate straight from cacao beans.

Every bar begins with carefully sourced origin cacao, roasted, ground, and refined in-house in small batches. The result? Bold, honest chocolate that celebrates both craftsmanship and flavour.

The name Jacobean is a nod to history — inspired by the art, woodworking, and creativity of the Jacobean period, as well as John Mason’s 1617 map of Newfoundland, which became the brand’s emblem. Just like the artistic renaissance that era represented, Jacobean sees chocolate as part of today’s own creative revival — one rooted in passion, patience, and a love of the craft.
