Java Works Coffee Roasters is one of Canada’s largest independent coffee roasters, with roots that trace back to a tiny Toronto storefront on Ossington Avenue. Founded in 1968 by Spiros Athanasoulis, a new immigrant to Canada, the company began with a simple idea inspired by European tradition: sell coffee directly from the roaster so customers could enjoy it at peak freshness. What started as 25-pound batches roasted in a living room quickly grew, cup by cup, into a trusted supplier for cafés, restaurants, retailers, and homes across the country.

While equipment and coffee culture have evolved over the decades, Java Works’ commitment to freshness has never changed. “Fresh From Bean To Brew” is more than a tagline; it’s a guiding principle.
