Kaslo Sourdough Pasta

🍝 Pasta the old way

Kaslo Sourdough Pasta actually started out with bread. Back in the early ’90s, Silvio was in Kaslo, BC, baking sourdough loaves in a backyard brick oven. He’d be up at 3 a.m. mixing dough, firing the oven, and pulling out hot loaves by mid-morning. That same sourdough culture he built then is still alive and used today.

Customers noticed something interesting. They noticed that people who usually couldn’t handle wheat were able to eat his bread. That got the family thinking… if sourdough could change bread, what about pasta? After a lot of trial and error (and a lot of taste-testing!), they came up with the world’s first sourdough-fermented pasta. It's pasta that's easier to digest, tastes amazing, and is still made in small batches in Kaslo, BC by the family bakery.
