Kismet Design started with a simple wish: furniture that looked good and was made with integrity—beautiful inside and out. Instead of finding it, founder Ivan decided to make it himself. With no formal training, no industry background, and nothing but a love for creating with his hands, he walked away from his full-time job in early 2023 and began experimenting with vintage wood, sculptural forms, and the kind of craftsmanship that feels personal.

By the fall, he began sharing his process on Instagram—small clips, honest insights, wins, fails, and the messy middle of making things from scratch. What started with barely a hundred views suddenly blew up into millions. People weren’t just watching the furniture; they were connecting with the story, the vulnerability, the curiosity, and the craft.

A year later, after countless lessons in production, design, and entrepreneurship, Kismet Design has found its rhythm. Today, the brand is known for small-batch pieces like the flagship Rocketlamp and the upcoming Tetra Lamp—functional art that blends woodworking with Ivan’s background in visual storytelling.

As a designer and founder, Ivan brings together everything he’s learned from carpentry and filmmaking: an eye for detail, a respect for materials, and a genuine love for showing how ideas move from sketch to prototype to finished piece. His community has grown to over 100,000 followers in under two years, drawn in by his transparency, creativity, and willingness to take risks in public.
