Founded by lifelong Newfoundlanders Peter and Robin Burt, the Newfoundland Salt Company turns the wild North Atlantic into premium, hand-harvested sea salt. What started in 2011 as a kitchen experiment soon became a full-time craft rooted in passion, patience, and the natural beauty of Newfoundland’s coastline.

Peter, a chef, perfected his salt-making method through years of trial and care, while Robin shaped the brand’s identity with her eye for design and detail. Together, they now produce small-batch, all-natural sea salt in Bonavista, loved by chefs, foodies, and home cooks across Canada.

Each crystal tells the story of the sea, the saltmakers, and the island they proudly call home.
