Peace by Chocolate

🍫 A taste of hope, handcrafted in Nova Scotia

Peace by Chocolate began long before it arrived in Canada. For nearly 30 years, the Hadhad family shared their handmade chocolates across the Middle East and Europe from their factory in Damascus, Syria. But in 2012 that factory was destroyed in the war, and the family was forced to flee.

After years as refugees in Lebanon, they were welcomed to Canada and settled in the small town of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. With the support of the local community, they slowly rebuilt their family chocolate business—this time from a small shed by their new home.

Since then, Peace by Chocolate has grown into something much bigger. It's become a symbol of resilience, community, and kindness. Their chocolates combine the rich flavours and fillings of Syrian tradition with Canadian care—every piece made by hand, with love and purpose.
