Shaw’s Ice Cream

🍦 A Canadian tradition since 1948.

Shaw’s Ice Cream has been serving up old-fashioned, creamy goodness for more than 70 years. The company was founded in 1948 by Carl Shaw in St. Thomas, Ontario, and although it became a local favourite, it nearly closed its doors in the early 2000s. That’s when the McLaughlin sisters stepped in. Having run their own ice cream shop, they knew they couldn’t let a community classic disappear!

The sisters rolled up their sleeves, each taking on a role to keep the business alive — from production and sales to literally driving the delivery truck. And their hard work paid off. Shaw’s grew beyond its hometown roots, showing up in scoop shops, grocery stores, and freezers across Canada. In 2019, they moved production to a modern facility in Tillsonburg, Ontario, while still holding on to what makes Shaw’s special: fresh 100% Canadian cream, time-honoured recipes, and the simple joy of ice cream done right.
