Suncoat is a Canadian clean beauty brand founded in 2002 by chemist Yingchun “Ying” Liu, whose background spans polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, and years of experience formulating industrial coatings. The idea for Suncoat was sparked at home, when Ying’s young daughter wanted to try nail polish and Ying was unwilling to expose her to the harsh chemicals commonly found in conventional formulas. Using her scientific expertise, she created a breakthrough water-based, non-toxic nail polish that delivered the same performance and finish, without harmful ingredients.

Since then, Suncoat has become a pioneer in non-toxic nail care, blending nature and technology to create vegan, mineral-based products made with water as a key ingredient.
