Terra Beata Farms

🍒 From Nova Scotia bogs to kitchens around the world.

Terra Beata Farms began in 1998 when David and Evelyn Ernst bought a small piece of undeveloped peat bog near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. What started as a modest 12-acre cranberry farm on Heckmans Island has since grown into a thriving operation with additional farms in Aylesford and Tremont, plus a major processing facility in Sackville, New Brunswick.

At first, the Ernsts focused on learning every part of the cranberry business — growing, cleaning, freezing, and processing. Today, Terra Beata produces juices, dried fruit, and cooked cranberry products sold under its own label across Canada, while also supplying private label and industrial customers around the world.

Each year, Terra Beata handles more than 5 million pounds of cranberries from its own farms and from other growers across Atlantic Canada. Both its Nova Scotia and New Brunswick facilities are BRC certified, meeting some of the highest global food safety standards. From a single cranberry bog to an international supplier, Terra Beata has built its reputation on quality, sustainability, and good old-fashioned East Coast hard work.
