XXL & CO™ began with a single Christmas gift and a whole lot of love. Founder Tina Nguyen, a mural artist with an eye for colour and detail, used to hand-sew scrunchies to match her painting outfits—each one taking almost a full day to make. When she stitched up an extra-large scrunchie for her cousin’s long hair, she unknowingly sparked something huge: the original XXL Scrunchie.

What started in Tina’s parents’ basement has since grown into a 2,700 sq. ft. warehouse and a team of 15, but at its core, the business is still deeply family-run. Tina’s mom helps choose and cut fabrics, her dad oversees deliveries and quality control, and every oversized scrunchie is crafted with the same care and creativity that shaped the very first one. Today, XXL & CO™ has grown into a vibrant community—thousands of scrunchie lovers around the world who believe that everyday accessories should be fun, expressive, and unapologetically bold.

Art is woven into everything the brand creates, from hand-drawn apparel designs to packaging that doubles as a canvas. Their commitment to sustainability is just as thoughtful, using recyclable materials whenever possible as they continue transitioning away from plastics.

And yes—XXL Scrunchie & Co. even stepped onto the national stage, appearing on Dragons’ Den in 2023, sharing their story with Canadians from coast to coast.
